Hello, my fellow lightworkers. Welcome to Cosmic Child Studios. I wrote this over a year ago intending to make a yoga video class, however, the winds didn't blow in that direction. Instead, I've posted this here as an introduction to what Cosmic Child Studios is focused on and how these concepts can help you along your journey. You may recognize some of the concepts from other mini-courses or articles, as they are the base foundation of getting to know yourself and the world around you.
Let's tap into something familiar. Ourselves. While many may know our given names and occupations, very few of us are really in tune with who we are and what we truly desire. Sure, we all want nice things and a good life, but that is barely scratching the surface. And before you all start scratching your heads and slowly hover your finger over the back button, let me ask you something:
What is the reason you do what you do?
Is it your obligation to make your parents proud? Your spouse? Your kids? Your dog? Yourself? What forces you every morning to peel yourself from lying down and shuffle enough to take a shit in the toilet instead of in your bedsheets? You may have had different thoughts pop up while reading those questions, and that's okay. Today, we are going to explore some of the tools that I believe we should've been taught to use at an early age. As always, put your personal beliefs in your cubby, and let's get started.

Your Birth Chart

Everyone has the right to know what the sky looked like the second they were born. No, I'm not talking about the weather. I'm talking about the planets and other celestial bodies floating around in our galaxy. Your Birth Chart is your personalized snapshot of the sky that helps you decipher what makes you, well, you. There are various ways you can get this done and some of them are even free. I personally love using the free ones and comparing the results, just so I have a thorough point of view from multiple sources. This is the one that I used for free. If you are interested in investing a whopping $20 into this, I'd suggest checking out the Moonly App and using their Birth Chart feature which gives you a fantastic breakdown of your best and worst parts AND how to approach tuning them for a healthier lifestyle.
Pro Tip: I encourage you to take your time with this, as it can be very wordy and slightly overwhelming. You will need to know your birthday, the exact time you were born, and the location you were born to get the most accurate results. This is also not an omnipotent tool that will solve all of life's problems. Just saying.
Your Enneagram Number

According to Google AI, "Ennea" translates to nine, and "Gram" translates to Diagram. Your Enneagram Number is one out of nine possibly different personality types. I found out about this test by pure chance while shopping at Five Below. They had a book about Enneagrams that was originally priced at almost $20 for $5. For those that know me, you know I swiped that book immediately off the shelf and stuck it in my cart after reading the back cover. Just like most of the things we will be discussing today, you can find many free Enneagram Personality Tests online. I won't be recommending any in particular, as I got mine from a book. If you are interested in checking out the book I read, its' called "The Enneagram & You: Understand Your Personality Type and How It Can Transform Your Relationships" by Gina Gomez. Once you take your test, you'll be itching to know the results of the people around you. I encourage you to bring that book or the free test to your next family gathering and take the test with your cousins. It's a great way to get to know the people around you and how you can interact with them better.
Your Meyers-Briggs Personality Test
This one is my personal favorite. First introduced to me about ten years ago, this is another personality test that digs into the weeds of who you are as a person. Instead of there being nine personalities, there are sixteen. This is how they explain it directly from their website:
The MBTI® assessment is a psychometric tool that gives you insight into what makes you you. By developing a clearer sense of self-awareness and awareness of others, you’re able to better frame decisions, reduce miscommunication, and understand personal needs more effectively. And that’s a good skill to have.
There are some free tests out there that can get the job done, but as someone who was able to get the test done through them, just take the leap and pay the shmun-mun. It's $60 for anyone interested. If you are shaking your piggy bank for coin, and a spider is yelling at you to keep it down, then. I suggest taking this free test and then going to this link to get a more in-depth perspective on your "type" from the pros. 16personalitlies is my personal favorite and probably as close as you're going to get to the real thing. Take a few free tests and see if the results are the same if you want to be sure. Or, if it really means that much to you for accuracy, just pay the $60. While those selling this product aim for growth in self-discovery, this is still just a tool at the end of the day. It is not omnipotent nor can it solve life's problems, so don't spend your last pennies on it.
Your Purpose

If you've taken the time to go through the first three tools I've talked about today, then you may have gotten to know yourself a little better. Some of us spend our whole lives asking this question and never receiving an answer. I personally didn't get this answer until after I had my "dark night of the soul" moment and really looked within myself. I don't really know if there is a tool to find your purpose. According to an article from Forbes, the top three tools you need to find your purpose are your energy tree, your personal statement, and your dream job definition. And this is the first thing that popped up for me on Google, by the way.
I think there is validity in all of these. But they don't get to the heart of who you are. Your purpose. Is your purpose really working for someone else, or is it working for yourself? There is no shame in either answer. But you do have to answer the question sooner or later. Otherwise, you'll just aimlessly walk around wondering what life is all about, completely missing the point until your body dies. I humbly believe that it is our job as humans to look inward and better ourselves through self-discovery and unconditional love. In the words of the Great Uncle Iroh:
Who Are You? And What Do You Want?

I believe that the only way to find your purpose in this life is to go back to the source of who you were. Before the schooling, conditioning, and brainwashing of cultures and society. Who was the kid on the playground? The wide-eyed, snot-nosed, unknowingly innocent version of you? It existed once, some of us longer ago than others. It's our job to find this beautiful bundle of joy within ourselves and hug them fiercely with an abundance of unconditional love. We need to practice forgiving the younger version of ourselves for all the dumb shit we've done because we were doing the best we could at the time. The same goes for those who have wronged us. But that's a deeper topic for another day.
What Is The Point of All This, And How Does This Pertain To Yoga?
Before we can get into ancient knowledge we need to get a better handle on ourselves first. But why? Isn't Yoga just poses and breathing on plastic mats and wearing leggings? Oh, shnukums. No. It's not. Believe me, when I started this journey ten years ago, I never foresaw this path for myself. I hated myself for most of my life. As I continued to stumble through my yoga practice, I was able to find different ways to love myself. It's not perfect, but it sure as hell beats where I was when I started. And I was only able to tap into this by studying yoga on and off the mat. I use this as one example in a multi-millennia chain of people who have practiced yoga before me. Nothing I will tell you on this channel is original, and I encourage you to crack open a book on any of these subjects and dig a little deeper. That's the point. Don't take my word for it. Go discover it for yourself because what you're going to discover is you.
Now I know that I shared a lot of different things with you today, so take a beat to digest it. If you are sitting here thinking "I just wanted to learn some poses" then i suggest you go check out some of the other wonderful Yoga teachers out there whose sole focus is asanas. I'm here to teach something deeper. Use all of the tools that I've linked and prime your mind for what's to come. I look forward to seeing you in whatever form I appear. Until next time!
