Being the person who will fuck up this chocolate cake on the spot, it always seemed that baking was something left to the Gods or people on TV. When I was taught that you can bake anywhere at any time, and it doesn't have to come from a box?! That's a wrap son.
I feel really dumb even tying this out, but I am so serious. I know I am not the only one who would rather buy the cupcakes on the shelf than make it home. I mean it must be so much effort to put all that together. Yeah, if you're making it for a million people. What I have been doing lately is every time I go to the store, it has been my instinct to buy butter. Why? Not just because it is a fun, fatty treat for your cooking needs, but it is literally in everything you bake. If you have the following ingredients in the cabinet right now, I swear you can come up with ATLEAST one thing to bake:
Butter, sugar, flour, an egg or two, baking soda, baking powder, salt, brown sugar if your feeling fancy, oh and cinnamon.
If you are looking through the cabinet and realize you don't have anything in there, most of these ingredients are a one-and-done purchase. The baking powder and baking soda can last you a while if your not ova here trying to be baker of the year. Salt is salt. The only things that you gotta rebuy literally cost a few bucks. Have you seen the price of flour and sugar? Much cheaper than the freaking cupcakes on the shelf, I'll tell ya!
Save ya change on the sweets and just make em at home. Grab a recipe offline that seems like it'll work and just go for it. Being a person who has just made sugar cookies, snickerdoodle, and choco chip just because I wanted cookies, I feel like I have all the power. And now you can too. You just gotta buy the stuff and, ya know, bake.
Click here to try out the recipes I found online with the insane google search "chocolate chip cookies".
This article was brought to you by the letter "S" for Spirit of play! We are here every Wednesday to get wacky and talk about things that we feel should be talked about. Cookies, after all, are a very important topic. Until next week yall!
