ARTISTS WERE NOT MADE FOR RETAIL
We sing while we stock
We dance in empty aisles
We doodle on recipt paper
Because we're artists
Not machines
We dream up stories
As we check out your groceries
And wonder why we bothered to get a degree
In art
When the world thinks their kid is picasso
With fucking finger paint and glue
ARTISTS WERE NOT MADE FOR RETAIL
We return your shit
We wear our masks
I CANNOT BREATHE
Yet you still come in
Complaining how the dressing rooms aren't open because you wana try on that bekini
Thats twelve sizes too small
For yo fat ass
Artists cannot deal with karens
Or susans
Or billies
Or janets
Because were emotional creatures
And we will either combist into tears
Or deck your ass through the protective plexi glass
ARTISTS WERE NOT MADE FOR RETAIL
ARTISTS WERE MADE TO MAKE ART
and yet here we all still are
smiling
through our masks
while you ignore the pain in our eyes
...next guest in line?
Sorry no photo today. No one wants a picture of a random aisle. I promise to get more original pictures up here, whenever I get to have a life again. But in the meantime i hope you enjoyed a little retail rant for your word vomit pleasure. Get drunk cuz its thirsty thursday!
