Our attention is a fickle thing. The honesty of not paying attention is evident on a persons face. That moment someone stops talking after a long time and we realize we had no idea what they just said. We were off in our own little land. We weren't present. We were on autopilot. And it sucks. TV sucks you in and you can stay glued to one spot for hours. A commercial comes on before a youtube video and you are dying as the seconds count down. Its a society of easy pleasers and people with extremely strong opinions. All rude. All crude. No humanity. No room for error. And when we lose focus and try to tune into the moment, the moment has already passed by. It's not coming back. And normally we are okay with this. Every moment isnt special. But the moments that are, we miss because our eyes are glued to a screen or lost in our own head. Distractions keep us from living life and being our best selves. Its selfish to be distracted. You steal away your own moments when your trapped in your head. Appreciate the little things and keep striving to see the world without the glaze of familiarity. Tune in, focus, and see what you land on. It may be a waste of time and you'll find nothing. Or you'll stand there and see everything as new and different, as if for the first time. Open your eyes and hold your focus to better enjoy life.
Just feeling a little bit smart this morning so I put my scholarly glasses and did a little word vomiting in my fancy mustache. One can never be too underdressed for this kind of occasions 😂 Here's to a week full of word vomiting masterpieces.
