Character Analysis: Get To Know Ban

The many faces of Ban
The many faces of Ban

Watching The Seven Deadly Sins was nothing short of a rollercoaster experience. Most episodes left you wanting more, leaving important characters dangling in the balance. The best character, in my opinion, has to be Ban. His wit and determination are inspiring to those around him, but his temper can be a bit over the top. Let's take a closer look at what makes up this buff-looking dude and, as usual, I'll be doing my best to skip the spoilers and get into the meat of what makes him so great.

Normally decked out in red, Ban is the right hand man of the Captain. The Sin of Greed is known for his reckless behavior and brute strength around town, but that doesn't mean he won't lend a helping hand to rebuild after a battle. He drinks his days away with a smirk on his face and can often offer you a snide comment on the fly. He's not heartless though. All his love is reserved for his beauty, Elaine. Nothing will deter him from dying before he can marry that girl. His fire for staying around for both his love and his best friend go beyond the bounds of a normal human. When Ban puts his mind to something, it's hard to sway him away from doing it. Just like his Captain, he will do anything for his squad and make sure that they are good on and off the battlefield. His chef skills are what keeps The Bore Hat in business half the time, the other half of the time he drowns himself in the liquor supply. He's a carefree spirit who doesn't like to be messed with. He's lived a long life and seen a lot, so don't try to get anything past him.

Ban is the guy that gets things done. His love story rips you to the core from the very first moment you meet Elaine. Ban's attitude the entire season is hilarious and makes the journey that much more enjoyable. He is one of the reason why I continued to watch the show and I'm glad I stuck it out to the end. I wish there was more I could gush about without giving away some spicey plot points, but alas my lips are sealed.

If you want to learn more about Ban, check out his Wiki Page and spoil all the plot points for yourself by just reading the summary. For now, enjoy a personal favorite!

Expand Your Mind...

Let's face it, language learning isn't easy. But it can be fun and ultimately unite us across Lahnds and Rehlms. All we have to do is expand our minds. This is easiest understood by those who speak Earth English, but other languages from other places may also understand this language lesson.

Tip #1: Laugh every time you mess up and then try again. Every mistake is an opportunity to learn and grow. Embrace it!
