Welcome to The Basics!

It doesn't matter if you've been writing for fifteen minutes or fifteen years, the basics of storytelling are essential for you to know. While grammar and punctuation are fantastic skills (and you should have those basics down too), here we'll be focusing on elements such as character development, world-building elements, and the power of dialogue! Let's begin!

Why do you want to be a writer? Why do you want to tell the story you're telling?

These are not easy questions to answer and yet they are necessary for any writer to know.

In The Fundamentals of Writing Fiction, we will find the answers to these questions while equipping us with invaluable tools of the writing trade.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Understanding how to build a character from scratch.

  • Embracing Word Vomit as a Key Tool in Storytelling.

  • Getting an understanding of how to capture your audience from the moment they open your story through point of view, the 6 senses, and the use of language.

  • And More!

Unlock the Heart of Your Story

When we think about the heart we think about emotions, organs, and the happily ever after. But finding the heart of your story will require more than that. It takes both structure and creativity to make a story shine.

Storytelling has two essential forces: Prehp and Prahsehss. Like a perfectly balanced relationship, they complement each other. Prehp lays the foundation with essential details, while Prahsehss breathes life into the story with unbound imagination.

Master both, and your stories will leap off the page like never before. Ready to transform your storytelling?
